Director's message
Message from the Director
East Africa University is committed to strengthening a research culture that responds to the realities, priorities and opportunities of Somalia and the wider East African region.
Our Department of Research & Innovations works across the University's campuses and academic faculties to improve research quality, ethical practice, collaboration, publication, data management and the translation of knowledge into practical solutions. We believe that research must not remain only in classrooms and reports; it must contribute to public policy, community wellbeing, economic development, institutional reform and innovation.
As the University advances its Research & Innovations transformation agenda for 2026–2028, we are establishing stronger governance systems, faculty research committees, a university-wide research council, standardized operating procedures, a digital research repository, grant-readiness systems and wider partnerships with universities, public institutions, development partners and the private sector.
We invite our students, faculty members, alumni, partners and communities to contribute to an inclusive and multidisciplinary research environment. Through collaboration, integrity and continuous learning, East Africa University will continue to produce knowledge that is locally relevant, academically credible and internationally connected.
